We worship on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at 35 Church Street in Rockaway, New Jersey in the brick sanctuary next to the small parking lot and facing the corner of Academy and Church Street.
We have an all-ages children's Sunday School starting at 9:15 am for children, meeting in the Sanctuary (Email Donna Van Duyne if you plan on attending: mom2tg2b@yahoo.com). All ages worship together at 10:30 in the sanctuary, and we provide a children's area if needed or wanted with chairs and pews for children and our parents in the back of our church with coloring pages, and games. Every 3rd Monday starting at 6pm, we provide a family service in our Fellowship Hall with a dinner meal, worship, games, and crafts for parents or caregivers and their young children.
Yes, we provide Adult Sunday Bible Study starting at 9:15 am in the Barnabas King Room, the large room to the right once you come in the front glass door in-between the sanctuary and the playground. We read, discuss, and answer questions on a different scripture and reflection each week which will usually relate to what we are listening to in worship that Sunday!
Feel free to park either in our small lot next to the sanctuary or our large lot next to our fellowship hall. Handicap-accessible parking is available in the small lot! Our sanctuary and fellowship hall are accessible by the ramp leading to the glass door in-between the sanctuary and playground.
We follow a traditional service with hymns, liturgy, and prayers sung and spoken out loud including the Apostles' Creed and the Lord's Prayer. Our choir anthem is chosen from a variety of repertoire including Contemporary Christian music. Our pastor's sermon is around 15-20 min. long. Prayer Concerns are raised out-loud, as we pass around a mic during our Joys and Concerns.
Worship is typically an hour long. Worship is an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half on Communion Sundays which are the first Sunday of the month.
We invite you to dress as you are most comfortable. You will observe informal and formal dress, from suits and ties to casual dress clothes, to jeans and comfortable shirts.
Yes, we provide a coffee hour in our Fellowship Hall, coordinated by our Congregational Care Committee. There are light snacks, lemonade and coffee, as well as room to sit down and socialize.
